How to survive a long flight

Those long exhausting and boring journeys are what I dread the most. so, I have tried to come up with ways to try to ease that five-hour flight or that three-hour bus ride on that uncomfortable seat.

1.Wear comfortable clothes

Tight clothes are a no go especially in such trips as they may limit your movement and so are short skirts or dresses. Put on some sweat pants and t-shirt to ensure you are warm and comfortable.

2.Do not drink

This is not to mean you should not take anything liquid. Minimize the water and alcohol, it’s no fun getting up from your seat every half an hour to visit the washroom.

3.Carry noise cancellation earphones and sleep mask

You are not in your personal car so definitely people around will be noisy. To avoid having headaches from this  prepare in advance.

4.Request a special meal

This is by far the best way to make those long hours tolerable. The best part is that they are usually free on most, you will be served first.

5.Power up

there is nothing as heart breaking and painful as low battery when you have a four-hour flight. remember to charge your phone or laptop before and carry some gear such as power banks in case you run out of battery.

6.Talk to your neighbor

You could try socializing with the person sitting next to you. You will be surprised by how fast time will move as a result.

7. Sleep

If all else fails sleep. Request a small blanket and a pillow or better yet carry them.

With love, Nelly

  2. I totally agree with wearing comfortable clothes, my 9 hrs flight to Tokyo was comfortable because of wearing those harem pants.
