How to stop being the angry mum

Most of us feel like we snap at our  kids for everything and we get worried because you don’t want to teach aggression and lack of forgiveness. I came up with few ways to help reduce the snapping.

1. Take a deep breath

This is the number one tip for anyone. Taking a deep breath will not only help calm your nerves but also will give you some time to think over what to do next.

2. Repeat yourself

Repeating yourself will show some seriousness and also will give your child the chance to correct themselves.

3.Know your triggers

Learn what spins you out of control. Could be their refusal to listen or them saying  no. Once you are able to determine what gets your temper high you will know how to handle the situation better.

4. Keep some slogans

This may sound absurd but memorizing some words can help alot. Plan ahead what you are going to say to your child when they seem to be getting out of control. Plan what to say and how to say it so you don’t get into an argument with your kid.

5. Reevaluate the situation

Once you feel calm, take a step back and reevaluate the argument. Is this something that is recurring and you might need to seek professional help ? Is it just random teenage tantrums?
