Bloggers interview #1

I had the pleasure to interview the beautiful and witty blogger Kirah. Below are the questions  I  asked her. I hope you find this as inspiring as I did.
1. What’s your name ?

Kirah but friends calls me Ki

2. Tell me more about your blog ?

My blog is called hmmkiki, after me, because it started as my journey from mid teens and whatever I was seeing around me. I wrote about motivation, fun topics (like people needing to shower, things that i was up to and friends. Now it’s stretched to travelling, teaching abroad, relationships, talks with God, struggles and some shake yourself and do this ish posts! It’s about what we go through each year in life with a little spin of Christian wisdom.

3. Apart from blogging is there anything else you do?

The last few years I’ve worked abroad teaching English which has been incredible for my life development and has helped shape my identity. I love working in education and being there for people so being an English teacher to all ages has helped that. Other than writing I do yoga and have gotten into cooking, just to cultivate peace and get some wife skills underway.

4. What is your favorite post in your blog?

I don’t have one that I’m more proud of but I do like to look back a few years to see the growth. So I’d say something like this drunken experiment

and this (am I not valuable)

They’re both from different times in my life and topics that irked me enough to write about well one was an experiment and I don’t believe you should try it or any of my other experiments!

5. How did you begin blogging?

I started blogging in sixth form when my friend did a post similar to Nicki Minaj’s Dear Old Nicki. I was inspired by him so I started. I kept going because people thought I was interesting and had a different spin to things. I guess I do, it’s sort of become therapy and a great place to showcase my career which in turn inspires others to get out of their safety seats.

6.what are you most grateful for?

I’m most grateful for love. I started learning to love authentically at a camp in 2012 when I met kids that had nothing and were incredibly grateful to the organisation for a great summer in their lives. That honest and innocent outlook when I was 20 really opened me up to children and taught me to remove the ice and rigidity around me. Ever since then I’ve worked with kids, camps and have 2 Godbabies to keep pouring into.

7. What’s your current favorite website/blogger?

I don’t have one as I like to write from a clear space where I’m not trying to be like any other writer.

8. What advice would you give to bloggers in your niche?

Do you. As much as you have fun on this writing journey be sensitive to what you share, not everything needs to be out there attached to your name. Finally, get into blogger stats and analytics from the get go- you may as well earn from your hobby!

with love, Nelly .

  1. I love how blogging has been a form of therapy for her. People choose unhealthy vices to vent and “heal”. I am glad her blog is entertaining to others and helpful to her as a writer.

  2. This was a good post. I’ve been considering doing an interview for my blog, seems like something that would be very informative for my readers.
